Valentines Day Party - Part One

Our amazing Valentine's Day Party has come and gone, but I'm still relishing the excitement of the night! It was a roller coaster of events that led up to the big evening and that was just the beginning of this year's HUGE celebration!

It started with my husband Raul and his band using my studio as a backdrop for some interviews. He and the guys naturally loved the atmosphere; the studio vibe is undeniable! Everyone felt right at home there, so Raul suggested that we have a secret show with The Mavericks playing a small acoustic set and displays of my jewelry for sale.

This suggestion was made on Sunday and we were planning the show for the following Thursday. Even though last minute plans tend to stress me out, I couldn't resist the chance to have a wonderful party with my husband, especially since he'll be on the road touring for much of the upcoming year. So I rolled up my sleeves and got the entire studio organized and tidy, which was no small feat!

Turning my work space into a display space took two solid days, and I still ended up with most things stuffed out of the way in the back! I couldn't have done it without all the help from my team and my friends. With the right people on your side, anything is possible!

We wanted to keep the event small, inviting mostly friends and family, but as the night rolled on we found ourselves at the center of a huge crowd! It was so much fun to have so many wonderful people in one place, brought together by art and music.

As much as I would have loved to linger with friends for the whole night, I had to get going. Raul and I had a plane to catch at 6am the next day!

We were headed out to New York to celebrate the birthday of our dear friend Christine! That trip was an adventure in itself, and I'll be writing about that in the second part of this blog next week!
