End of Summer

End of Summer 2015

As another summer draws to a close, I prepare for the harsh winter by counting my many blessings from the year. It's been a fabulous chapter in my life and I have so much to be thankful for. So as I take the time to enjoy these last days of vibrant greens and singing birds, the warm nights with dear friends, I prepare for what's ahead by taking strength from what has passed.

My heart is overflowing with motherly pride as two of my wonderful sons prepare for college. My boys have been an integral part of my life for so long now, I almost don't know how to handle the thought of two of them flying from the nest. Parenthood is the only kind of love where success means letting go. But any sadness I may feel is overwhelmed by how very proud I am of my sons as they step into the world to become men. I can only hope that I've given them all the tools they will need to begin building their own lives. And of course, I'll always be here for them no matter how grown they are!

Another huge milestone that happened this year was the 50th birthday of my husband and partner, Raul. We had a huge celebration and I want to thank everyone who was able to attend. I really tried to make the focus of the night all about him, right down to the decorations! Our beautiful niece made a ton of posters which we proudly hung around the room, and the twinkling lights and candles set the atmosphere perfectly. It was an evening I'll never forget and I'm so glad I had the chance to show my ever-patient husband how much he means to me!

As mother nature changes the colors outside, she also changes my palette and tastes. I'm excited to draw the curtain on my Summer 2015 Collection and begin thinking about new creations! I haven't firmly settled on the items for my upcoming Winter Collection, but I'm thrilled about new inspirations and creative energies! I'm excited to bring this year to a successful finish and I have nothing but optimism for the upcoming season!
